The Snug Haven
Snug Haven is one of BDI’s in-house funding mechanisms. The initiative is designed to raise funds through short-term housing solutions to generate revenue for our projects and initiatives in rural Ghana. This innovative approach repurposes underutilised spaces within the BDI network for temporary accommodations, channelling seventy per cent (70%) of Snug Haven’s profits directly into BDI’s project pool. In addition to its financial role, Snug Haven cultivates a sense of community and teamwork among BDI employees and lodgers, contributing to the evolving landscape of short-term housing to meet the changing needs of researchers, modern professionals, and travellers. This forward-thinking approach ensures the ongoing success of our projects while positively impacting our broader business ecosystem.
Our Pristine Neighbourhood
Located in the heart of GREDA Estates, Teshie/Spintex, Snug Haven welcomes you with its tranquil residential charm, adorned by semi-detached and standalone houses, immaculate private gardens, asphalted, and well-tended streets, ensuring a delightful scenic and secure pullback from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Our Offer
Snug Haven offers a distinctive two-level layout. Upstairs, discover two private ensuite bedrooms ensuring comfort and privacy. Downstairs, there is a fitted kitchen, a spacious living room, and a guest toilet for your convenience.
To enhance your stay further, we offer guests a complimentary package, including 100GB of internet data (total value US$40), 200 electrical power units (total value US$20), bedding, and linens. Additionally, we provide complimentary water usage valued at US$5, a one-time laundry service (subsequent requests are chargeable at US$8 per load), and a cleaning service (additional services available at an extra cost of US$10/session).
For those seeking a serene outdoor experience, our inviting bug-screened patio beckons for afternoon and evening relaxation. Smoking guests are welcome here but not in the bedrooms or inside the main buildings.

Our Rooms
Explore "Supreme Haven" and "Deluxe Haven"
Our largest room, “Supreme Haven,” offers a generous space of approximately 26 square meters, ensuring your comfort and ample room to relax. Meanwhile, “Deluxe Haven” provides a cosy yet comfortable space of about 18 square meters.
Both rooms have private refrigerators, fans, air conditioners, fire alarms, spacious wardrobes, water heaters, and functional desks and chairs. Regarding sleeping arrangements, “Supreme Haven” features a king-size bed, while “Deluxe Haven” offers the comforts of a queen-size bed.

Our Billing Strategy
Snug Haven has two billing seasons: the Peak and Standard Season. The Peak Season is from November to February, being the busiest months in Ghana’s hospitality industry. During the Peak Season, demand for Snug Haven’s services is at its highest, necessitating careful resource allocation and management to ensure optimal service delivery. Conversely, the Standard Season, which encompasses the remaining months of the year (March to October), allows for adjustments in operations and pricing to accommodate fluctuations in demand. This strategic approach enables Snug Haven to effectively meet the varying needs of its customers while maintaining operational efficiency throughout the year.
Our peak season rates for 2024 - 2025 are as follows:

REBATES
Discounts apply only to our researchers, interns, affiliate partners, and volunteers. This group receives up to 40% off their accommodations which are safe, comfortable, and designed to help them focus on their work and make the most of their time with us. Interns pay a flat rate of $1,300 monthly for all rooms, including utility costs, housekeeping, and internet.
