Executive Director and Founder
Lorenda E. A. Parker is a Human Security & Systems Strategist, Rights-Based Development Specialist, and Founder of Berecons Inc. comprisinf Berecons Development Initiative (BDI), Berecons LLC, The Snug Haven, and Berecons Trading. Her work sits at the intersection of human rights, design and systems thinking, policy, and development practice, with a strong grounding in qualitative research and cultural anthropology.
She brings deep expertise in human security, Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA), African policy frameworks, business and programme development, and initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Lorenda's work is characterised by a rigorous, people-centred approach that prioritises context, dignity, and long-term impact.
Over the years, she has collaborated with the United Nations and its funds and programmes, the Danish Foreign Ministry, international and local NGOs, CSOs, legal entities, and development organisations across Africa. Meticulous, articulate, and highly detail-oriented, she is known for translating complex social realities into actionable strategies, policies, and programmes. Her strengths span research design, impact assessment, project and programme design and management, data collection, and business development, all rooted in community-defined needs.
Through BDI’s multidisciplinary portfolio (covering food security, WASH, health planning and economics, capacity building, climate science, and related sectors) and an expanding network of development partners, Lorenda advances a vision of an Africa where human dignity, equity, and inclusion are central to development outcomes.
She remains firmly committed to ensuring that Ghana’s and Africa’s marginalised communities receive an equitable share of national development gains, and to addressing everyday survival challenges by enabling individuals and communities to live secure, dignified, and fulfilling lives.
