Lorenda E. A. Parker (LEAP)

Executive Director and Founder

Lorenda E. A. Parker is a Human Development Consultant and Founder of Berecons Development Initiative and Berecons LLC. She brings a wealth of expertise in qualitative research, cultural anthropology, human security, Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA), policy frameworks in Africa, business development, and initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Over the years, Lorenda has collaborated with the United Nations and its various funds and programmes, the Danish Foreign Ministry, international and local NGOs, CSOs, legal entities, and development organisations across Africa, among others. Meticulous, articulate, and highly detail-oriented, she excels in applying anthropological insights, with strong expertise in research design centred on community needs and impact assessments. She is skilled in business development, research design, data collection, project/programme design and management.

She is determined to ensure that Ghana’s and Africa’s marginalised communities receive an equitable share of the national development cake. Through BDI’s multidisciplinary programmes—encompassing food security, WASH, health planning and economics, capacity building, climate science, and more—and its expanding network of development partners, she envisions a just and equitable Africa where human dignity is prioritised.

Lorenda is on a relentless mission to improve the everyday survival challenges of marginalised populations by empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives, free from the burdens of injustice, poverty, and want.
